Read some of my hubs - many of them are about playing songs on guitar. Most pop and rock music is based on bars of music, which tend to be 4 beats each. So most songs are play E four times, then A 4 times, then E again...etc.You can find 1,000s of songs at chordie.com. Honestly, it's so easy to get started.
