I suppose there are hundreds of ways to respond to this which, of course, depends on the person. As for me, when I write fiction romance, i focus on particular fantasies that i may have and form them into writing. I think of how i would like that fantasy to turn out, throw a few twists in there, and then add how i would respond to the scenarios. I also try to keep it realistic and believable. I know that it is my story and/or fantasy but i want to reader to be able to connect with it in a realistic sense. For instance it isn't often that you fall in love at first sight. I do believe that it is possible. Yet its more realistic to read about a love that develops over time.

when I write romance, the first thing I try to do is find two juicy characters that cannot stand each other and then pit them in a shared battle of survival where they must, in order to be saved, resist each other ......at least for a little while.....
formula on a platter.
good luck!
