How popular are writings about Africa here?
I'm passionte about Africa and write articles, essays and books about the countries and people of the continent. I wrote a novel based on the true story of a Kenyan family who was disastrosly affected by the 1998 terrorist bombigsin Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. My editor t the publishing house that had published my first novel rejected the MSS with th remarks, "Books about Africa and Africans do not sell unless there's a European, preferably female, involved in the story." Woow!! Wish I had such hegemonic delusions!

Well books about Africa doesn't sell is a relative term depending on the persons involved. There are many African writers who published their books and made a lot of money and fame in it. I am sure there may be someone around desperately looking for talent like you to publish their work. I will help you find those that may be interested in publishing your books. I am beginning to realize that the believe that Africans don't like reading has become a general phenomenon.
