Loading... Are all businesses/companies bad or evil?

I think bad/evil is a human quality.

Therefore a company or business can't be evil, but those running them quite obviously can be.

Conversely they can also be good.

My personal opinion is that many businesses and companies are nothing more than well dressed thieves.

Take a look around you.

Bankers are earning obscene wages and are offered mega bonuses for performance, yet get bailed by their buddies in Government when they fail.

Huge chemical and agricultural companies get sweet deals by seeding Government with ex-employees and profiting from ill health outcomes of the masses.

It's about as far from free market as you can get.

I'm not anti-capitalist, but big business is getting away with too much at the expense of you and I.

I think all businesses and companies want to make money. So their decision are motivated by that factor. For example they might offer priority support for a paying customer but not great support for non paying customer. In that case the non paying customer might find the company as evil.I advice small businesses on various issues and if you are in for the profit you have to make some compromises.

In my experience very few businesses are bad or evil. The progressive/socialist media hates business and free markets, so always jump on any story that reveals malfeasance from some of the leaders of a company.

The problem is more government interference in the market, and growing regulations, which creates crony capitalism. That results in the favoring of one company over another.

Governments need to stay out of the markets so businesses can thrive.

If there were no business, there would be no jobs and great improvements to our lives. Governments just suck the money out of production and redistribute it to misguided entitlement programs and, in the case of the United States, a too-ambitious, overextended military.

Companies don't hold the monopoly on being power-hungry or greedy. Just look at governments and their agencies, politicians, and even 'non-profits'. Even 'non-profits' often do manipulative (bad) things to get ahead. Even the United Nations is based on self-interest, when you look behind the covers.
