Why is there so much hate towards Christianity and its ways?
So much effort has been done to stop the act of Christianity and the practice of it, why is this and what happened to the right of freedom of religions belief?

I ask myself the same question Mdawson. Can't believe the postings on religion threads on Forums. From a Hubpages point of view, I have noticed that people don't like being preached at and if verses of the Bible are quoted to them, they twist the meaning round and then the christians go on and on trying to justify the verses and then it gets a little hostile.
Summary, christians should write/talk about their religion in love and if people are not receptive they should not lash out at them. Just leave them in peace. That way people won't be angry and won't hate them. Punto! :)
(and for the Record, I am a Christian).

This question appears somewhat awkward to me. Most of the people hate each other's religion. This is mainly for the fear of spread of other religion and suppression of own religion. In India, missionaries are doing great social work but there is a feeling among the followers of other religions that christians are trying to spread their religion and forcing followers of others religion to convert their religion and become Christians. There are few facts that support such feelings to a limited extent.
1. Missionaries in India are taking up social work in tribal belts and there are lot of conversions to christianity in these areas.
2.Most of the beneficiaries of different schemes like scholarships etc. are converted Christians
Such type of incidences supports the fear of people of other religions

I think you are mistaken to think what is an alternate opinion is hatred. I do not believe in religion. Religion is man-made. I am a firm believer in God and that will never change. I do not however hate Christians or any other religion. I just do not believe in them. I think many people that are not Christians or do not believe in religion just don't like being preached to or the prevelance of christianity in society. I have a feeling sometimes people are overwhelmed by it and start to resent it. I found that if people feel there is alot of influence by the religious right in their government, they start to become resentful and question it. I don't think there is anyone trying to stop christians or any religion from existing or practicing, just not to force it on them or their children. Whatever it is. There still IS freedom of religious beliefs and that is how it should remain.
I have also met many So called "good christians" who were anything but and non-christians who were generous and kind and loving and caring. Slapping the label "Christian" on it doesn't make it better K. and not having that label, does not make it inferior.

They don't hate Christianity, they hate the loud, obnoxious, pridefully arrogant, judgmental imposter that calls itself Christianity. Also note that when True Christianity starts to surface, the false Christians will do everything in their power to cut it down. It only makes sense, Jesus was hated the most by the people who were supposed to be worshipping the same God that was the Lord. I'll just say, people hate the religious hypocritical imposter, but the one who stands for the truth as written in the Bible will be hated by all including many Christians.

People do not like being reminded that the things that they practice might be immoral, unjust, disrespectful, violent, hateful etc.... Christianity is about Love, the Love of God. Us loving God and Man. It is about following God's Law's and answering to Him. It is about being Redeemed by Him. To them, that way of life is no fun,it is a way to tie them down, it is following moral laws, just laws both of which they turn their noses up at. It is about having one mate and sex in the marriage bed, it is about patience, kindness, faith, love, respect, answering to a higher power (God), giving without expecting anything back, that which eludes them. We Christians pursue a life endeavoring to be like Christ. adhering to Christian principles. Those who hate us, endeavor to live their lives attaining self gratification at anyone's expense including their own. We love, they hate!

Many people hate the religion, because it's one of hypocrisy and contradictions. These leaders of religion will say things like "You better not sin, anytime you sin God and Jesus will hate you." Then they sin, and it's "You must forgive me, because I'm human."
They say "Love your neighbor" but that really just means, "Love those who agree with you."
The worst of the worst make Jesus look like a psychopathic megalomaniac.

Maybe because most Christians refuse to accept another person's belief....
We can all get along with each other, by respecting each person's beliefs.....So what if they're differant?
If a person doesn't want to hear about another person's belief's let them know....Say let's agree to disagree and leave it at that.
We have no more right to condemn (judge) another person's belief then what they do ours.....
I'm a Christian have been for years, and in all these years, I have never condemned or judged another person's beliefs, or denomination.....And I believe that all Christians should be like this.....Regardless of beliefs, or denominations, show respect and not condemnation...

I dont believe that the hatred is towards Christianity itself, but what it represents. To believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is to believe in the unseen. Many people have a hard time doing that. They are only interested in what can be diagnosed and studied with the human eye. As a Christian, I know the presence of God and I feel it daily, but it takes faith. The word of God says that without faith, it is impossible for man to serve Him. So my answer is lack of faith is where the "hatred" of Christianity derives from.

I'm a complete believer in the notion that, when you constantly encounter a certain situation, you must, within your own sphere of being, be containing an element of that very situation. Otherwise it would not be dogging you persistently. Simply put, you attract it because you contain it within you.
From my own perspective, it's very difficult to defend Christianity's reputation in terms of how it's increasingly attaching ungenerous labels onto other faiths with an air and intensity that borders on the boistrous.
There's no denying that Christianity does a lot of good by serving the spiritual and material needs of millions of people across the world. But then, the blatant and unnerving streak within many Christian denominations of casting other faiths as paganistic, or even evil, makes it easy for Christianity to earn the label of arrogance. Who wants to be subjected to endless verbal pummeling that's interspersed with threats of eternal damnation that, by all accounts, defies any rational system of dispensing justice?
If Christians would like to get reprieve from what they consider hate being target at them, they too, should tone down their rhetoric and accept that this world was created by the same God for Christians and all other peoples alike. A god that's reluctant to embrace the differences in a creation he's ostensibly responsible for is, indeed, a very weird god and rightfully undeserving of reverence. The Christians should do their best to distance themselves from that type of deity.

As Christians, we model ourselves after Christ. When Christ walked the Earth, he was persecuted, accused, lied on, and ultimately crucified. We as Christians have to suffer the same in order to become more Christ-like.
All that they did to Christ, they still do to Christians. We have to be strong and keep our faith. How can we truly be Christians if we never felt some of the suffering Christ endured?

People generally hate the Christian Religion not Christianity. 99.9% percent of people don't know what True Christianity is, especially those of the Christian Religion
Having said that The Lord Jesus Christ said: "they hated me so they will hate you because of me."
Judah's Daughter says
Luke 6:22 “Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and cast insults at you, and spurn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.”
I've written a hub on this topic called "HATED On Account of My Name". I invite anyone to come and see...God bless you.

Whoa TJ! Its time to start taking your medication again. True Christians are a determined bunch. They feel as I do its important to spread the word and that we have been tasked to do so by Heavenly Father. Alot of dislike comes from people who feel they or their actions put them at odds with the moral standards that Christians abide by. That said, there are those who are over zealous and can be offensive. At this time in America, Christians are under attack from the left. The would prefer a politically correct rewrite on the Bible so its more inclusive. Peace.
