It really sounds fishy. Now most people know that mails of this kind saying that you won money or like that is a scam to rob money out of you.

It is a scam! Don't release any personal information, you could be at risk of identity theft. Anytime you get an email from some kind of lottery that is international or in the UK or anywhere for that matter forward it to scamletters.com. They have an email address to forward it to and they inform the authorities.
My suggestion to you is figure out where the so-called lottery is originating from and google the lottery laws in that area. You will find that all of those scammers have no clue about the law surrounding online lotteries for the area they are claiming to be located in.
Another clue to a scam is if you are required to provide bank information or pay any shipping fees, it's false. Be wary of anything that sounds unusual. Also keep an eye out for poor grammar and typos as most scammers have little education and make many errors in their writing.

Yes, they are all scams. In fact, I almost fell for one myself about six years ago. Thankfully, God gifted me with enough smarts to do some investigating online first before I gave them all of my information. Best rule of thumb to go by is: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Also, always check with the Better Business Bureau to see if they've had any complaints about a company before you invest in something that sounds a little fishy.
In addition, if you receive any emails having to do with an International Lottery or some person that's dying in Africa offering you a lot of money if you fly to Amsterdam and pick up some trunk full of millions of dollars supposedly, don't give them any of your information. They actually had a report on these people a while back on "60 Minutes" or "20/20" and exposed them as all scams. So my advice to you is to avoid them like the plague.
