Your dog might vomit simply because they've eaten too much food. Dogs frequently chow down too much. However, vomiting can also be a sign of something serious. Your dog might have swallowed a poisonous substance or otherwise dangerous object. They might also be suffering from a medical condition (such as parasites, kidney trouble or an infected uterus) that needs immediate attention. Also, heat stroke and motion sickness can cause vomiting in dogs.

If your dog is vomiting, keep a close eye on him or her for lethargy, diarrhea, dehydration, blood in their vomit and other unusual symptoms. If your dog has unusual symptoms or vomits again within 24 hours, take him or her to the emergency vet.

Your vet might prescribe medication. Additionally, they might recommend feeding your dog a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice or potatoes. If your dog ate a non-food object, surgery might be required but laxatives and other treatments will likely be tried first.

Stand back and plug my ears while saying, "poor puppy" or "Not again!", then get the paper towels and clean it up. =)
