Loading... If Eli Manning wins the Super Bowl, does that put him ahead of his brother for the Hall of Fame?

If Eli Manning's career ended today, he would most likely not make the Hall of Fame. He's 7-1 on road/neutral playoff games, he's 2-0 in the Super Bowl, he's a two-time Super Bowl MVP and a has made the Pro Bowl (2008, 2011) twice. His brother Peyton is 1-1 in Super Bowls but made the Pro Bowl 11 times out of 14 years which makes him a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

However, if Eli Manning never wins another Super Bowl or goes to another Super Bowl, but passes for over 3,000 yards with at least 25 touchdowns each year for at least another 4 years, he will eventually join his big brother in Canton. His numbers by then will suffice. And remember, he has never missed a game since being drafted by the New York Giants. In my opinion, he is BETTER than Peyton because he is better when it counts!!!

Eli needs more consistency with his performance to get to the Hall. He is off to a pretty good start. He just needs more successful years behind center.

Until now, he is mostly seen as Peyton's little brother, and while it is unfair, that is how it is. If Peyton's career is over, Eli has a chance to catch or surpass him.

I don't think so. Jim Plunkett has 2 super bowls and he wasn't really even close to a Hall of Famer. It certainly helps but Eli needs a few more years of consistency at a high level before you can lock him in as a sure bet. Peyton, is a sure bet.

No. Peyton's regular season numbers are too good, he is easily one of the best ever at his position...even if he's (mostly) a postseason choke artist. Eli isn't consistent enough to be put ahead of his brother, but it's hard to argue againt him being more clutch. Good question.

Eli isn't there yet but being younger he still has time to catch up with Peyton's numbers.

Of course, Eli did win another SB but he is definitely not ahead of his brother for the Hall of Fame. Its not only winning the SB that determines HOF, otherwise Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Kelly etc... would not have been in the HOF.
