We can't say it is required. There is no harm in having sex during pregnancy.In a way it is good for the mother during delivery of the baby. But care should be taken to avoid sex in the initial period . Once four months crossed after conceiving you can have regular sex till the ninth month in normal cases. In abnormal situation the doctor's advice is the best to be followed. Of course you have to take different poses to avoid pressurizing the belly. If you have sex with a little more care than usual it is actually a pleasant experience for the couple.
