Loading... Is it necessary to add that the hub content is copyrighted?

Someone copying and pasting your entire article or sections within it would be in violation of copyright whether you make the indication on your hub or not. It has been published with your profile name and is date stamped so it can be compared to a later entry by another individual if copyright infringement is in question.

I am not an attorney. I am an artist. I don't know about Thailand or international law, but in the USA there is a "common law" copyright. You do not have to register or remind anyone, only prove that you completed the piece on a certain day. There are all kinds of little tricks people will tell you about. The best one is to have it notarized. That isn't really necessary, though, since no one is allowed to reproduce your work without your written permission. Still, to be sure, get documentation. If the work was done on a computer, it is automatically documented.

Rip offs are rampant these days. It would not be worth your while to chase down a theif from the other side of the world unless they make millions from your work. If some kook lifts your stuff to impress friends on Facebook. Send them a cease and desist order, or let it go.

I've often thought about attaching some sort of copyright message to my hubs. Not because I have to in order to battle someone who steals my stuff, but to warn people who read my stuff on copied websites. Something like "If you're not reading this on HubPages, this article has been stolen." It happens more than you'd think and assuming one is protected because they aren't making much money, is a mistake.

Maybe some are pulling your leg but I for one am not. I have all my poetry copyright and I use to give the date but now I just give the date I put it at hubpages (if I remember to). It doesn't cost that much to copyright materials and my poetry is not a paragraph, I put real work and thought into it and I would fight anyone in a court of law using my stories or poetry I plan to publish much of. Now just this and that hubs I don't worry about but whose to know which of those made it into a copyright? It is a big chance to take if you have anything valuable someone could have attached and possibly take for you stealing their property, such as written work is. I have heard about different things protecting you at hubpages but I take care of myself instead of trusting anyone else to. Maybe someone from hubpages will tell you more of what they do.
