No it is not possible unless you were given a place to live, food to eat, clothing, and medical care and the dollar a day was pocket money.

You can pick up food from garbage locations, ask at local restaurants and fast food places for food that they are throwing away (believe me they throw a huge amount away each day) Pick berries yourself, hunt your own meat sources, go fishing, drink water from public water locations or use a water filter to filter river/stream water.
Make shelter with what nature provides you.
Just a few things off the top of my head that would help you survive on a dollar a day.

I guess you would have to work as a volunteer for a non profit organization that kept you fed and sheltered. I'm sure if you had the skills to hunt food and live in the wild you could find a place to go. You could also live homeless shelter to homeless shelter. Other than those three ideas I doubt it.
