Loading... What is the criteria for making it into hot and best lists?
I am asking this question just out of idle curiosity. My last question went straight to the top of hot list when I pressed the 'submit your question' button. I was surprised at this, as it did not even get an answer. Hubs are also classified as hot and best. Is it the same criteria? I searched HubPages for similar questions and found some. But none of them got any meaningful answers. So, here I am asking this question again in the hope that someone will reply.

They are no more than the preferences of the list maker unless of course it is a polled review..like the NY Times Best Seller List, where they pool all the sales of a book in one week...

I don't have an answer either, perhaps the question was on a generally popular topic? I have noticed in the questions, when the answers are sorted by "best" I have seen answers with a +3 ranked below a +1 answer. It doesn't seem to be a simple matter of how many answers or how many + votes they get. It's one of the mysteries of HubPages.

I am glad you asked this question because I have often wondered the same thing. I had assumed it was by numbers of comments on a hub or question.

Write very high quality and interesting posts, and sure enough eventually it always pays off in the end. If you find this too difficult or want information you can go to the information part of Hubpages here: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/contents Apart from that however, there isn't really any other genuine way of accomplishing this except getting a lot of false or generated traffic.
Please vote up an answer if it adds to the discussion, or vote it down if it does not. You cannot flag an answer, but if an answer receives enough down votes compared to up votes, then it will become hidden.
