I used to enjoy chocolate and read a book with my cat beside me. A worse situation than not having a date is to be ignored by the person you HAVE been dating and realizing that he or she isn't really that into you. Glad I'm happily married!

Take yourself out and treat yourself to a good meal and movie if that is what you like. mail Valentine card to yourself in a ficticious name. Make a game of it. mail yourself a gift from your fantasy friend. Now you may not go along with this but you would be amazed at how this would make you feel.

I do not have a partner at this time so what I do is give gifts and goodies to my relatives...often I will take my immediate family (who do not live with me) out to a nice restaurant too....it is just a time for me to let others know they are thought of in a special way....all of the festiveness about the holiday is right down my alley...just one more excuse to celebrate and share...not that I really need an excuse

It has been an ordinary day for me for a long time. Then my son grew up and invited me to lunch a couple of times.

It is good if I have a relationship partner to spend the time in Valentine Day but if I don't then I will make any body as my valentine who will be close to my mind and present him/her a beautiful gift as a token of our beautiful and pure relationship!

For starters, I went to Sears today and bought myself a birthstone ring on sale from $90 to $32. On the day I have a doc's appt. than my writing group. After that I may take myself to dinner or at least get a nice dinner to take home. I'll get in my PJ' and curl up with my cats to watch TV.

I don't believe in or follow this day, when society/marketing has to tell me that I must say I love you to and buy a present for my partner.

I love this question! I'm single and Valentine's Day ISN'T just for people who are in love! While I enjoy watching the people I know do romantic things for each other during this day I don't exactly envy them. People feel obligated to buy expensive gifts like diamonds and things they can't afford. I love being single!
I'm going to do for myself what I would do for a love interest if I had one right now. I'm going to take myself out to a movie or rent one I really want to see and snuggle up on the couch to watch it with a bowl of popcorn. I'm going to make myself a beautiful meal, get some flowers for the table, a nice bottle of wine or sparkling cider, light a candle and enjoy rack of lamb or crab legs and a salad.
Just because you aren't in love right now doesn't mean you aren't just as special as someone who is! If you have any friends that are in the same boat you are maybe you could have a dinner together with each contributing their favorite dish or desert.
Or if you aren't into cooking maybe treating yourself to a massage would be a nice change. You have to love yourself before you can love someone else anyway so its a great day to make that resolution to yourself.

I try to keep my patience...!
Or as Sooner28 said, eat lot of food and watch Television or movies.
Sometimes, I indulge in over eating!

Call a loved one or friend and wish them a Happy Valentine's Day. Get yourself a treat (box of chocolates, yummy), get in your pj's and watch a good movie.

Spoil yourself! Imagine the presents you would most want to get from your ideal lover and get them for yourself!
I would want homemade dark chocolate truffles (which of course no man would make for me :) But I can make them myself!
I may do this anyways, as my boyfriend will not be making me chocolate lol!
Have fun and treat yourself nicely!
