I just got a one year old bunny and she'll let me pet and rub her but she wont let me pick her up?

I picked her up twice the first two days we had her easily, but now she runs away from me and scratches the floor of her cage after my attempts. I've read the proper way to pick her up but it doesn't work b/c she freaks out. What can I do I want to have a wonderful bond with her

Hi,

I have a bunny too. It's 2 and a half months old.

Bunnies usually like making strong bonds before attempting to build up trust.

You can do so by scratching your bunny's head, they REALLY like that. Sometimes, bunny's can really adopt to you when you scratch it enough. They'll start to jump up when you walk by demanding you to scratch it.

Also, that creates a bigger bond with you and your pet.

Another way is to just take it slowly with your bunny.

Start by picking her up once a day, or at least attempting to,

and if she doesn't like that, try again the next day, and the next, until your bunny is used to handling.

Bunny's are prey animals you know ;), so when they get picked up, they think they are near there death.

Just make sure you take it slowly!

Hope this helps, Good Luck!
