Nikola Tesla discovered that there is an omnipresent and infinitely renewable source of electricity free in nature; the earth's rotation, with it's molten metal core, creates a huge electromagnetic field.
If we could harness this power, energy would be no problem for anyone on earth.
That was Tesla's vision, and it's doable today.
I wrote a carefully researched blog about this, title, "Free Electricity". My sources: "Tesla, The Lost Inventions", by George Trinkaus, and "Wizard: The Life and Times of Nikola Tesla" by Marc J. Seiffer. I read several other books on this subject, but those two are the main ones.

Little things:
Take the car out less often
Use Public transport
Don't leave any electronics on standby, always turn them off
in your whole house how many lights do you really need on?
etc etc
If everyone does their part we will start getting better and better.

Our earth does not need energy saving according to the law of conservation of energy ;p But there alot of things you can do to help out our civilization's usuable supply of enerygy! Try to reduce your ecological foot print with easy things like closing lights you dont use and walking instead of driving. Hope this helps!

There are many reasons to create residential solar power systems for houses and the best one is you will save hundreds of dollars every time you get your electric bill.
You will also be helping the environment and your children/grandchildren will be thankful for this.

There are many ways to save power, and help reduce our footprint of energy use. To begin with we can all insulate our homes better, change out inefficient light bulbs for energy saver ones, there is a kit you can put on your car that produces hydrogen from water, and improves your gas milage up to 50%, and you can do it yourself. I see some big opportunities in wind, solar, and micro-hydro-turbines that can allow you to produce your own power in a green manner. There are many examples of using methan gas to run in place of propane or natural gas. you can make your own methane gas producer that is safe, and economical. Methane can run you car, a generator, water heater, cook stove, heating, and anything that can be done with propane, or natural gas. You can see exaples of what has been done with methane on my hubb page (green power by Thomas Mounts) look at the link for put a chicken in your tank. It tells of an old time engineer that used his backyard workshop to produce methane that was produced from pig, and chicken manure, and straw, and he ran it as an alternative fuel in his car. He could switch from gasoline to methane on the fly, as he moved down the road. All the parts to build a methane generator are readily available to all. many homes in india use methane generators to produce gas to cook with. There is a region in Itally that has a heavy commercial use of methane gas to run cars. They liquify it, and put it in tanks like that used for propane. There are many options we just have to quit thinking that the easy way that is established, and mainstream is the best way, and start to think outside the box. This will require some swimming against the stream efforts to begin with, but with the can do attitude, and some ingenious thought, we will all be moving to a green power plan soon.

Make more and more people aware of the potential of solar power and wind power. Help educate them to make these DIY for themselves... this way people will start to see the big scam which has been going on for way too long making people around the world pay way to much for electricity/energy while numerous times scientists (like Tesla) (not funded by the big polluters of this world) have proven that energy CAN be obtained and produced for a fraction of the costs and the pollution (coal industry) then it is still used today!! But then again scarcity creates dependents and a whole lotta money and profits!!

Turn down the central heating slightly (try just 1 to 2 degrees C)
Turn down the water heating setting (just 2 degrees will make a significant saving)
Check the central heating timer setting - remember there is no point heating the house after you have left for work
Fill your dish washer and washing machine with a full load - this will save you water, electricity, and washing powder
Fill the kettle with only as much water as you need
Do your weekly shopping in a single trip
