Don't panic, drive her to the hospital and make sure she is in the car. (some men get to the hospital only to find they forgot their wife at home). :)

Well I was given bad advice at lamaze class they told the first time dads to bring a snack. I brought mixed nuts and was really enjoying them until the labour pains started getting worse. I went to her to coach her with her breathing, she wasn't well and in alot of pain. I said breathe honey and she became instanly alert and looked me straight in the eye and asked ,"What are you eating?". I said those nuts I brought to snack on. She looked at me fiercely and said,"You eat one more nut and I'm going to throw up on you!". She wasn't very nice so I went back to my seat and her mother came over and said its ok she doesn't know what shes saying. Peace.

His role would be to gather everything to go to the hospital and call the hospital to let them know they are on their way. The wife would be in too much pain to move. And stay calm even if she is flipping out. He'd also be time keeper, counting the seconds between labour pains. He'll know when it starts!

Making sure he can give you lot's of medication for the pain...and preferably get you to the hospital on time!

Depends on which games he has installed on whatever "gameboy" type apparatus he brought along.
