In my experience over the years helping paranormal investigators and as well as helping people through mediumship, there are two different types of Ghosts (Spirit Activities). One of which is a residual type of presence or haunting and the other is an intelligent presence of haunting. We are made of energy (our spirit is the essence of this vibration/energy) and upon 'death' does not die. Energy doesn't die. With that being said, it is true that what our energy was like while in a physical body stays somewhat the same after we 'die'. So, there are some energies which are more 'forceful' with the living because they were that way in their physical form. We might see it as aggressive, angry and so on. I will be writing more hubs on this very topic especially on residual and intelligent type of haunting. I must add that I am only looking at entities who were once human. Hope this helps you!

Yes. But it's not a normal danger for the average person. Usually, only those with above normal levels of consciousness attract beings without bodies. Most folks don't have enough juice for those "beyond the veil" to bother with, with the exception of having had a history of relationship. Like the surviving spouse who continues to sense and interact with the recently departed. But there are those who are parasitic because they didn't make it through the tunnel after they died and look to the living for sustenance. It's not at all like the horror movies. But there are beings with true malevolence who continue to wreak havoc and otherwise engage those of us with physical bodies. But we aren't helpless, despite the current "scientific" tendency to deny existence to whatever isn't a thing to be physically validated. My answer is definitley. Spirits can harm us in many ways. Physically is not too likely although it can happen but spirits hurting humans usually manifests itself through our minds. Our minds are somehow conected to the spiritual realm and spirits can masquerade as one's own voice just to decieve a person or to get them to feel sad or anything that would damage in any way shape or form. For example lets say there's a little girl who's a bit insecure of her body looking into a mirror. All the voice has to do is to whisper " I'm ugly" into the girls mind to get her to feel sad. And the girl or human in this case usually assumes that this thought or whisper is comming straight from her when in fact it is coming straight from a demon who's one mission on earth is to follow commands to steal kill and destroy. Everyone has demons whispering to them on and off throughout their lives. It's just part of life as long as were here on earth.

The question is a bit vague, so for now let's assume you are asking whether a non-corporeal "ghost" or "spirit" is *capable* of hurting you; the short answer is: Yes. Another short answer is: There is no such thing as spirits nor ghosts. The secret key to this question lies in your own mind; if *YOU* believe that they can hurt you ... then, not only do you manifest such things as ghosts and spirits into your own reality, but you also give them the power to hurt you; if you believe something, than *that's* your reality, and *that's* what you notice and experience. Including pain.

Well I am an Indian and I will answer this question like Indian. In our religion we believe that there is one GOD. and he inside every one and everything. So know if you see the world you will find that its not others, its you inside them and its not you its others inside you. Yes i am not denying the fact they exists. But its us you make them things do. If you believe that the spirit will hurt you then off course it will hurt you. but you believe spirit will not hurt you then if will never. Always be positive. Its not others how love or hurt us, its you thoughts which come back to us. I know you will not understand this thing. You need a guru for to understand this..

Spirit/Ghost/Genie they can hurt us if they managed to possess us. Mentally they can whisper negative thought to us.

IMHO no, they can't. Although they do have the capacity to cause inadvertant, and indirect harm to those people who are really frightened by their existence. I have always believed that "harm" or "hurt" implies intent and I have never thought that spirits intend to harm us ever.

I think in the end it does depend on what you believe - have I ever been shunted out of my house by a ghost - yes that did happen to me once, but I wasn't in any danger - I just hated feeling uncomfortable all the time so I moved house. But I have had a lot of spirit interactions both before and after that time and have not come across any other incidence where I felt in any danger at all.
