are you stepping on a firm foundation??

I now believe I do since i started doubting everything I was taught about faith=)

Honestly, even though I know in my mind that I "have a solid foundation," I often forget it in my heart. Sometimes it really feels like I am working too hard for something that's supposed to be supporting ME.

Little voice inside my head: But it's not actually supposed to be supporting me. It's supposed to be glorifying God.

Another little voice: But the Lord says, "Come to Me, those who are weary, and I will give you rest," and, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Me again: I have ups and downs with my foundation. My foundation is solid; it's the rest of my house that isn't so secure. The part I'm trying to build myself.

I know that God made me special ("... and he loves you very much" -- Bob the Tomato), so sometimes, when my foundation feels a little shaky, I try to remind myself that the reason that I go through harder times and solitary times and times that the whole world seems dark... it's because God's trying to carve out that great being He created deep inside me and set her free. And the sooner that happens, the better. It sounds small, but it can help keep me from pursuing other means of filling my heart.
