The best way to get noticed is to participate in the conversations on the forums. Of course, you need to do so in a way that doesn't make you out to be a pariah. Voice your view on subjects, without appearing forceful, and people will check out your profile ... and perhaps ... your work.

Know that it takes some time to gain fans, but once they start arriving in they pile in slowly. Also know that a lot of fandom is about what you write. Publish a topic of interest to many and you will see the fans pour in - publish something only interesting to yourself and you'll hear crickets.

In the end, your content is the biggest decider of how many fans you will accumulate. As such, write interesting hubs, be knowledgeable, and turn away for a week ... then return to see who your first fans are.
