You allow the bait to rest on the bottom. The presentation changes depending on what the fish want. When the water is cold, you can just squeeze your hand around the rod handle to make the skirt breathe. Once the water starts warming up, gradually hop the bait along the bottom in 6 to 12" hops. Don't make it go wild, you want the fish to believe it is alive.
