I am working on writing a book and would love to post it in pieces in hubs to get some feedback

How can I keep someone from stealing my content but get the feedback I need?

I wouldn't advise posting pieces of your novel on HubPages. The first chapter, yes - but not later sections. I wrote a Hub on how to promote your novel - check it out from my profile page.

Join Litopia. It is a bang up writer's colony started by agent Peter Cox. It takes a few months and several posts to the community, then you submit your work. When accepted as a full member you can post your material in the writing houses. Your material is safe, vs. on the general internet. You get real good feedback by writers just like you who are in your genre. Give it a try. www.litopia.com

Sorry it took so long getting back to you:(

My recommendation is that you put nothing

up on the Internet that is not already properly

Copyrighted, or that you do not mind other people

copying or using. Private Forums are usually safe,

but even then, I would be cautious.

Ty I did the copyright and the first chapter is now a Hub! I hope you will read it and tell me what you think. I have been writing for many years but have been too much a coward to let others read my work.

Your best bet, would be to copyright the sections that your are posting. However, when writing on the internet, you can always advise that the material is copyrighted, since you are the author, by placing your name, and the copyright symbol, along with the year, at the top or bottom of the piece that you are distributing for feedback. If it is copied, then you have legal rights, since anything that you write, is automatically covered under the copyright law.
