Day Care Options For Mothers -- Explained From A Mom's Perspective

Being a mother of three, it is difficult to not hang your head and accept day care as the inevitable. As much as I would love finding a job that would keep me home with my children, I wake up from that dream very dissapointed that I can't make it a reality. So I have done my research on this subject and have come up with the only option that is reasonable and cost effective. Hourly daycare. When I had my daughter and was gearing up to trudge back to work, I put her in a regular day care that over charged for a couple of teenagers in the infant room that really didn't give enough attention, as they should have, to the infants. Shortly after that horrifying experience, I decided to become a stay at home mother. It was very gratifying to stay home knowing that the only person who could completely care for her the way she needed, was me. But soon I had to return to work and support three children instead of one. A very kind Sunday school teacher gave me the information about hourly day care that was located in my area. The great thing about these kind of facilities is they are mostly run by women who have been in difficult situations and were faced with day care dilemmas. The one that I chose had wonderful packages where you could buy certain amount of hours for a reasonable price. I also decided to do my homework on the faculty and was happily surprised that they hired people who were retired teachers and people who have worked with children all of their careers. I felt like I had hit the daycare jackpot and my children have been attending there ever since. I would strongly suggest mothers to do extensive research on the area that they live to see if hourly daycares are available in their area. I would also suggest that before they commit and join, that they do an "interview" over the caregivers and what their backgrounds include. As hard as it already is on mommies who do not like leaving their children with strangers on top of paying obscene amounts of money and not sure if they are getting what they pay for, hourly daycare is in my opinion the way to go.
