Agree with LazarDRod you just have to start. Be sure in the beginning to wear full protective gear. It will make a big difference in not giving up. Start slow on the tricks, and be patient. Also, make sure to start out with a decent deck. A very cheap board can make learning to skate much harder and not much fun.

The easiest way to skateboard is to just start. Hop on that board and get going. There's nothing that someone can tell you which will magically make you a good skater, you just have to learn by yourself. Get out there and practice. It's the only way.
