No not at all. It is not offensive for anyone to breast feed in public. It is a woman's right to do that. I think no one should have problem with this and if the woman is big breasted or very hot, God has made her like this so why this specific category for them.

By the way, I published a hub http://hubpages.com/hub/breastfeed-babies for this most debated topic at hubpages. Breastfeeding or nursing in public.

How twisted is the society that displays breasts everywhere from billboards to sitcoms but makes an infant's mother feed it in the bathroom!!!

No it's not offensive. Not everyone likes to see it (it grosses my wife out) and it might be best to be discreet, but an infant needs nourishment and that is the priority.

i agree that breastfeeding mums (like me) shouldnt have a problem feeding in public to sit in a public bathroom not exactly the most comfortable place to breastfeed (and often quite smelly...)when you breastfeed u have to relak and b comfortable you have the right to do it wherever you are regardless the size of your breast btw i also always have with me a large bib that is specially made for breastfeeding mommies...BUT i recently went to a lingerie shop, while i went to try on a few bras a lady came in sat zipped one boob out and sat herself on the chair and started feeding just like that we were all in shock c'mon where's her dignity???

or last summer in switserland while walking in a very packed place lots of touristsa woman was feeding her baby while walking and again you could see everything and the path was very narrow so you couldn't not see ...

so no it's not offensive for anyone to breastfeed in public but have some dignity and selfrespect then people will respect you!!

It should not be offensive for any mother to breastfeed her baby in public; however, I believe one should be discreet. It is so easy. A receiving blanket over the shoulder and you can nurse your baby while keeping your modesty. Breast size and "hotness" are irrelevant to a mother nursing her baby.

It shouldn't matter what the mother does for a living, or that she has large or small breasts, if you need to feed your baby, you need to feed them end of. From my own experience, you can't always feed in a discreet place, but can make it discreet by covering with muslin or shawl....i just don't understand how on earth can be offended as its the most natural thing on earth, and maybe if people were a bit more open minded rather than just seeing "the breast" more mothers would breastfeed.

Any nursing mother has a right to breast feed her baby. She should of course be discreet about it! Breast feeding is natural and there is nothing wrong with it, showing yourself off sexually while doing it is exhibitionism, and wrong. If a person does not care to see a woman breast feed her baby then that person can simply, NOT LOOK!

my question was a response to the ones who say we need to feed in private. so i asked if the few who are stuck in the past would mind seeing a stipper or model nurse in public. i also nursed in public ,and ther are times when it is difficult to completely cover up,but we do our best.it;s when ignorant people approach us or make us defend our right to nurse or make a scene and upsets ourself and our children.please read my hubs and answer to the original question,is it offensive to nurse in public.

I don't know, wouldn't it be more offensive for ugly, flat-chested women to nurse in public? Offensive to who? How is it offensive for someone to give nourishment to an infant? If anyone is offended by that then they may as well resign as a member of the human race, and animal kingdom as a whole for that matter.

the women who nurse babies in public don't have the problem. The problem lies within those who have a problem with nursing. They really need to get over it.

Nothing is wrong with nursing a child in public, no matter who the person is or what they do for a living. Just be sure to be discreet as Kebennett stated.

The baby needs that contact and so does the mother. If others are offended that is their problem.
