I think guy are intimidated by a woman who is actively seeking a boyfriend. Guys like the thrill of the chase, and women who are too available to them seem to be a turn off to a guy. If a woman is actively searching for a boyfriend, guys often view them as needy or desperate. I think the best way is to put yourself out there, go to places guys frequent, be friendly but not aggressive. Be confident, but not conceited. Be funny, but not obnoxious. Dress in flattering clothes, but nothing too tight or revealing. Don't be too flirty or easy to get. A man will be more likely to keep the girl he had to work for. I think when meeting a girl, a guy tends to subconsiously put her in one of two categories: someone to sleep with or someone to have a relationship with. Women who come across as too sexy often inadvertendly put themselves in the first category. Guys will usually go crazy over this kind of woman at first, but they will quickly lose interest. Once a guy puts you in the first category, it is hard to move into the second. When you think you have met the right guy, there are several things to remember. Never be the one to chase the man. They are hardwired to be the hunters. They will quickly lose interest in a girl who is too available. They subconsiously want to win you over, not the other way around. And never sleep with a man until he has commmited himself exclusively to you. If you do, he will mentally file you in the wrong category, making it less likely that he will ever commit to you. Men will tell you this is not true but it almost always is. If you ever ask a reformed womanizer what made him finally commit, it will almost always be the woman he nearly couldn't get.
