If you could switch places with one person on the planet who is not a celebrity who would it be?

The person can not be someone famous. Think of friends, family members, neighbors, a random person that maybe influenced you in some way in the past. What about them would you like to know more about? What makes them who they are? How did they get to the place that they are at today? Sometimes the average everyday person can be more interesting than that superstar we see on the covers of magazines.

I too am completely comfortable with who I am, but if I could change places with someone for a day, I think I would choose my 11 year old son-to be young and free again! Even if only for a while...

As nice as it may be to fantasize about how wonderful life would be in some other person's shoes, I have to say that I don't do that.

Even people who appear to be blissfully happy are only in a temporary state. Everyone has something they still want or wish was different in their lives. Some people have much more going on behind closed doors than anyone else can ever imagine. And not all of it is good.

No, even though my life can be trying at time, I would never want to be anywhere but where I am now...

No matter how difficult it may seem, there is always some "poor bloke" who has it worse.

I can, however, think of numerous people that I would like to have more time with...

My granddaughter. She is only three and I would love to do this all over again! The open wonder of everyday for her! She sees excitement in everything! She has shown me the wonders I was forgetting to look for and definately missing in my life. What joy there is in just being here.

Those are both great responses and I appreciate the honesty. Though I completely understand your points about wanting to always stay you, because I am completely comfortable in my shoes as well, I think I would want to walk in someone else's shoes just for a day. I find people extremely intriguing, the way they walk, speak, interact with one another. I love knowing the thoughts of others.

If I were to so to speak walk in someone else's shoes I would want it to be more of a "Freaky Friday" experience where I not only knew the past and the present events that this person had lived through but also how their mind worked and what happened in the past to make them react that way. I know there have been times when I jump to conclusions about a person because they did not react the way I expected them too, but I only know the outer present experience. I don't know enough about them to make a legitimate judgement on them. I think I would walk in the shoes of the many customers that walk through the doors at my job at the airport. If I knew more about these people maybe I wouldn't judge them based on the clothing they are wearing or the remarks that they make.

Maybe in the end it's really not about even wanting to walk in their shoes, maybe it's about slowing each day down and making it a goal to get to know at least one person a day that you didn't really know much about before. I bet we would all be surprised.

I would not switch places with anyone. I don't know what type of life that others may really lead. I know what type of life i lead, and i am pretty comfortable with who i am.

I honestly don't think I would. I like who I am and what I am, so I wouldn't want to be someone else.

Though spouse and I have joked about what it would be like to be in each other's bodies during sex - just once, to see what the other side is like.

Otherwise, I'm me and I'm staying me.
