Illegal aliens should be returned to their respective countries and you solve two problems: 1.help solve our unemployment 2. removes a large burden off our health care crisis.and the tax burden we suffer from. I am all for aliens coming over here legally and becoming a United States citizen, we do not need another bankrupt socialist government run organization running health care. Look at the government run social programs, they are all bankrupt.

Keep both government and companies that people work for out of it ALTOGETHER. Companies providing it as a "fringe benefit" has driven costs up for EVERYONE. And insurance companies should be allowed to offer only major medical, not insurance for every little hangnail or sniffle or tooth cleaning.

There is something morally wrong not being able to provide health care to all Citizens. We now have Iffy Care. Health care Companies now have the power of life and death. Wait...the deny of coverage letter is coming. It's coming for you.
GNelson says
Make health insurance nonprofit. The more insurance companies give our premium money away to shareholders; the less premium money there is for us, the policy holder. If the goal of the insurance company is to make a profit than paying your claim reduces their profit. The less claims paid; the more profit. Good for shareholders; bad for policy holders. Insurance companies also spend your premium money to donate to politicians who pass laws that benefit insurance companies. Insurance companies like to insure healthy people and try to drop coverage of sick people. Sick people are not profitable. Primiums should be spent on the policy holders.

The government should stay out of our health insurance, its a private business and anytime the government gets its fingers into something it never works right again and cost more.
Where to buy insurance has always been a gamble and up to the person if he/she wants to take the gamble or not. The next thing the government will be dictating to the American people is forcing everyone to buy house insurance....My answer is government stay out of my life!
Health CARE reform or Health COST reform?
First, I feel it is not a matter of health CARE reform. If we had the worst health care system in the world, I would say we need to reform it. I and a vast majority in polls think we have the best health CARE... keep reading →

Health Care Reform is the Pop Topic for 2009. It is seemingly fresh in scope. But not so. Since Franklin Roosevelt and his invention of the Social Security Program to help offset poverty in the 1930's it was the beginning of Public Opted funded programs. The Public needs to know more about American History and Public Funded programs. If we had all relied on Private Industry to help the poor and take initiative to share the wealth America would be a third world country today. Public Option Health Care guarantees something would be done when Private Industry hesitates with more excuses asking for more bailout money.
Now lets recap the Franklin D. Roosevelt Administration's Policy:
'Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected President in November 1932, to the first of four terms. By March there were 13,000,000 unemployed, and almost every bank was closed. In his first "hundred days," he proposed, and Congress enacted, a sweeping program to bring recovery to business and agriculture, relief to the unemployed and to those in danger of losing farms and homes, and reform, especially through the establishment of the Tennessee Valley Authority.
By 1935 the Nation had achieved some measure of recovery, but businessmen and bankers were turning more and more against Roosevelt's New Deal program. They feared his experiments, were appalled because he had taken the Nation off the gold standard and allowed deficits in the budget, and disliked the concessions to labor. Roosevelt responded with a new program of reform: Social Security, heavier taxes on the wealthy, new controls over banks and public utilities, and an enormous work relief program for the unemployed.'
The answer everyone is that the Public needs to be reeducated on American History - least we repeat our mistakes and enhance lessons learned to build upon greater remedies for tomorrow. Without any change the Hitler infused policies behind health care will continue. This means that it allows a means to eradicate the ''undesirables'' from Society without a single bullet; blocking them from getting prevention medicine and cures and only those who can afford will survive. Hmm this smacks of Darwin influences too. .

U.S. spends way more of its GDP on health care than countries like Canada and the quality of health care is ranked very low compared to developed nations. This means that what we currently have doesn't work and needs to be changed. I do believe in the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it", but this system is definitely broke.

Open competition by eliminating the anti-trust exemption from insurance and encouraging health insurance sales across state lines;
Tort reform to eliminate frivolous lawsuits;
One-third of healthcare costs are to meet the paperwork requirements imposed by the government - cut the red tape.
I would also propose a subsidized plan for the working poor. The requirements I would propose are:
1. You must be working;
2. You must be an American or legal resident;
3. Premiums are based on your income;
4. The policy is portable to allow short lapses in employment.
This plan would also give an incentive to work!
