What is an authentic working from home job in any field that does not cost money to start? no scams

I am trying to go back to school now that my child is one, and I am trying to get a job where I can see my son more. I currently am employed full time in a retail place and I am going back to school this semester. I saw my son very little when I was going to school through the first year of his life. I just need a chance to make money at home and raise my child. If there is any way to make that possible just please let me know how.

Be careful when you're looking to do things online especially whenever you're asked for personal information. For a couple of answers I noticed references to Hub Pages that were recently written so be careful with those too.

I wrote an article about making money from home and READING THE FINE PRINT before choosing one you think you might like. I also mention that you should talk to people you know personally that has done something successful that you'd like to do.

I was a single mom many years ago so I fully understand your plight. One of the things I did when going back to school (college) was to take every other semester off whenever I could. I took those times as a breather for myself as well as for more time for my kids. I've never regretted it.

Today it's possible to do accredited online learning for many types of programs which should help you to be at home with your son more while still studying (online) for some of your courses.

For income generated from home and depending on the amount you need to support yourself, consider things like taking in typing, doing a businesses paperwork at home or being an assistant for a real estate agent (and working out of your home). While doing so create passive income (income that is continually generated after you start or develop something - home based businesses are good for this) so that you don't have to work full-time outside of your home as your son grows or for the rest of your life.

There are no get-rich-quick schemes or programs out there or else we'd all know about them and everyone would be doing them too.

A person can make a lot of money from home if they're creative and put in their dues but it takes time. Believe, be positive and you will be able to make it work!

Healthcare and Travel. What happens is you work for a company for a while after a training period. Once they train, and trust you they allow you to telecommute for certain types of jobs. Trying to do it on your own is very hard, you essentially have to create your own opportunity. With so many scams you are probably better off just being a super hubber and writing as much as you can.

In spite of all the scams and get-rich-quick schemes, there are some legitimate opportunities where you can make money from home that don't cost any money. For instance, have you ever thought of becoming a freelance writer? Did you know that there are countless opportunities where you can actually bid for jobs online?

To read more about bidding for online freelance jobs, please visit my hub entitled "The New way To Work."

I know firsthand how difficult it is try and raise your children up when you have to work outside of the home. For this reason, I have tried all of the get-rich-quick schemes out there and most of them are nothing but scams. I have also found some pretty legitimate home-based businesses (preferrably direct marketing, not MLM) that do require you to invest in a start-up kit and usually require that you order a certain amount of their product yourself. These are okay just as long you understand that you have to have the time and money to invest in them. In my experience, unless you're pretty gung-ho about selling lotions, potions, or vitamin pills you usually end up spending more money on the products or business than they are worth.

However, don't give up, because like I said, there are truly legitimate ways out there to make money from home if you are willing to explore your God-given gifts and talents and spend some time developing your talents until you are actually able to make a living at it. I believe the best investment to make when it comes to business opportunities is to make an investment in yourself. Learn a new skill, and then keep working on it until you excell at it. Then you can possibly start marketing your skills on the "free advertising" websites.

Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted on your progress.

Designing things can be done from home, but the time it takes to submit things and then hear back and work on a contractual settlement takes time...no fast money here.

Good luck on your search.

I wish you the best of luck, but keep in mind that almost everything takes some sort of startup money. You wouldn't expect to start a home business with NO money.

Instead of focusing on finding something that doesn't cost any money, I would look for something that takes very little startup revenue.

Have you thought about any sort of freelancing? I am a freelance writer, and my business took very little cash to start. I also have a friend who makes bags from scraps and sells them. Things like this can be started with very little time and money, but if you are diligent with them, they can grow exponentially in a matter of months.

If you have any sort of talent, hone it and then utilize it!

If you have an interest in studying online through a Canadian institution, I am currently doing just that. I enrolled with Okanagan College online and take courses through B.C. Campus online. It is a program composed through many different BC colleges and universities.

I work full time at the largest law firm in the Yukon Territory and I am taking my Corporate/ Conveyance Legal Assistant Certificate online. It gives you real college credits, is recognized throughout Canada and gives you an estimate of how many hours you need to put in. There are assignment deadlines but they are easy to meet. Your intstructor answers your questions quickly through email and it is a great way to learn.

I would also like to point out that each class has about 30 students and you can set up study groups with them if you like through a live chat on the course site.

This doesn't just cover law, they have many different programs offered online and it is all legitimate. I think my program cost about $2,700.00 CND and I will be done in about two years.

The top online college in Canada is Athabasca University, it is located in Alberta and has many courses online to choose from aswell. I would also like to point out that if you are an international student you can enroll through Okanagan College online. You get a real student identification number through the college and it's really quite fun. If you have any questions about what courses online I would suggest visiting www.bccampus.com or Okanagan College's web site. You can contact a program coordinator and find out alot more. Another good point is that if you need an extension on an assignment just email you instructor, inform them as to why you need an extension and it's done. You can work at you own pace and get a great education.

All of my books were mailed through Greyhound and arrived at my front door weeks before my courses started. You should check it out if you are seeking a higher education. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. You do all your school at home and many other parents are in the courses with you so it is people you can really relate to.

As for making money, I work as a runner at a law firm. I work seven and a half hour days, get a full hour lunch, three weeks paid vacation a year and I have professionals to ask questions if I need help with an assignment. Did I mention I get the same benefits package as the lawyers? Well I do! I get medical, dental, optical and travel insurance at no cost to myself. They even started an RRSP for me and all other employees which the lawyers pay 2% of my annual income into each year. It is a very fulfilling job and I have lots of free time after work and weekends off.

The reality is that work-at-home jobs are much like traditional jobs. They have the same titles ... customer service, teacher, tutor, bookkeeper, writer, transcriber, nurse, social worker, etc.

These are the types of work I find all time for my blog and newsletter at http://www.workathomesuccess.com (its free).

If you want a work at home job, you have to go about it the same way you would a traditional job:

1) What skills and experiences do you have to offer an employer?

2) Search for jobs, not sign up to work programs.

3) Tailor your resume to fit each job you apply to.

4) Search and apply until you're hired.

Good luck!

You can build a very lucrative and successful Natural Health Products business with Forever Living Products. They are an amazing company to work with and totally ethical. You need to make an investment of £195 or the equivalent in US dollars. For this you get a Distributor pack with all the popular products and stationary to get you started. It's a business in a box. If you hold 2 or 3 product launches in the first month you can earn back your original investment. If at the end of 60 days you decide it's not for you then the company will refund your £195 and you keep the products. If you want to know more please contact me and I will send a link to my website. The business is international and operates in over 136 countries.

Best wishes

OK - suggest 2 things.

#1 - www.alpineaccess.com - hires at-home customer service agents (very legitimate); your computer system, internet connection and working atmosphere ALL must meet rigorous standards. Pay is about $8.00/hr, but may be more or less, depending on situation. Also, check out Teletech Online -- this is another at-home customer service agent service. Both companies provide online training. There is no cost to start as this is a regular, hourly paid JOB.

#2 - www.GreatWorkPlan.com/sw. This is company with a product everybody needs and few know about. Currently, to become associate $72 (one-time fee); monthly ongoing membership is $26.95; total $98.95 to start. Also, currently offering exclusive chance (free) to get in on prelaunch of online shopping service (free) where you, your family and your friends can make $$ from shopping online both in the form of discounts on YOUR purchases and rebates on your friends' or family members' purchases. If you did not make money with Google or Amazon when they went public, this is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor.
