How can you prove the existence of God?

There are no proofs for the existence of any god. That is why those who fanatically cling on to their monotheistic god are ... not seeing the truth.

I've been both a devout Catholic and an atheist. From both sides of the issue, I have generally found proofs for God's existence unconvincing. However, the argument from design has always struck me as intuitively the most powerful. Of all the arguments from design, Hegel's is perhaps the most interesting. He argues that the presence of consciousness and the history of thought are evidence that the universe itself is a single entity (the Absolute, God) coming to know itself and that all reality is the self-knowledge of the Absolute. I remain an atheist, but were I going to become a believer again, I'd take the Hegelian route.

Before you can prove or disprove anything you have to be able to define the parameters.

Can you define "God"?

You can't prove the existence of god. You either believe or you don't. Faith and belief by definition do not require proof, and the need for proof shows a lack of faith.

God is the epitome of what can not be proven. People that would try to prove the existence of God are on a fools errand.

To prove God exists, you must know what, who, and where God is.

I think if anyone logically tries to prove the existence of God, they will fail. Proof lies in logic, fact, data. God lies in emotion, soul, and psyche.

God and proof don't mix.

There is only one way to prove the existence of something: by producing a TRUTH statement about it.

For god, one must first define what it is. Then all they have to do is produce 1 truth statement about it. If they can do that, then they have proven its existence.

To this day, nobody has been able to do this.

To prove that something doesn't exist, all one has to do is give 1 contradictory statement about it in the form of (P and not-P) at the same time, where P is a proposition. This is the only way to prove something doesn't exist, including a defined god. This is the PRIMARY reason why theists are hesitant to provide definitions for god.

Yahweh, Jesus, and Allah are proven to not exist using this rational method.

But a deist god, whom we know nothing about and can't be defined, cannot be proven to exist or not.

Only God can prove His existence, why dont you ask Him the question?

You cannot prove the existence of god because he doesnt exist.

It's true, many people would like to prove the existance of a God, or Gods, but unfortunately, we'll have to stay in the dark a while longer because it is currently impossible to prove, but belief is what makes religions, not proof. Otherwise, no one would believe anything!

Salma Hayek. Damn, she is pretty. I am so happy she evolved. This is a question which cannot be answered by top scientists let alone bloggers. But just for the hell of it (no pun intended), I'll give it a bash. God is a name which we give to everything. The religious community has a fable version of this which is total crap world wide. However, if you define God is everything then all you have to do is look around and say, "Damn." Pretty cool stuff. I personally don't believe in the old man version but I do believe it is pretty cool we have evolved this much that we even slightly comprehend it.

Look in the mirror, and ask yourself, "who made me", "who made the trees", "who made the animals", "who made the water"......We know who made the car, the house, the fridge, the plane.etc. The existance of us is evidence of God. the same became a man.

How Can You Disprove IT? We believe by Faith. How can you look at the Universe, Nature, the birth of a baby, the miracle called Man, etc... and simply, not believe? Science has in fact proved more than disproved His existence! Experts have in fact more proved than disproved the historical accuracy of the Bible. What more can I say! He is real!
