Anyone know of an affordable insurance or discount card for rx's for someone with health probs.?

I can't qualify for most insurances because of heart disease and other health problems. Even if it just covers prescriptions alone or discounts them, that would work. It has to be affordable, because my husband is still looking for work and our insurance from his old job has expired. I have alot of meds I have to take for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood thinners, etc. because of heart disease. We live in Texas.

Have to disagree with fantasy wild. I've looked into Ameriplan, and know people who got involved with it, both as customers and sales reps. Nothing but bad news. The company even had their membership in the Dallas Better Business Bureau revoked a few years ago, so look before you leap.

Walmart has very low cost drugs. They have over 350 different drugs on discount. Refer to my hub on how to save money on health care services. Please also feel free to ask anytime.

If you don't mind taking generics. Go to Walgreens, they have a Prescription Savings Club Plan. The plan is $20 a year for individuals, $35 a year for couples or families. They have a list of generics where you can pay as low as $1 a week. If the medication is not on the list you will at least get a discount. Go to walgreens.com and find the nearest Walgreens then bring them a list of your medications and they'll be able to tell you how much money you'll save under the plan.

If they are generics, you can already purchase them for less at Walmart. Many generics are $4. If they aren't generic, you can try http://www.canadadrugs.com/.

If those don't suit you, then you can call me at 877-460-6621 and we can try to figure out your best plan of action. I am a licensed in Texas and an independent health insurance agent.

You can visit www.lowercostdrugs.com to print out a Free Drug Card that will save you an average of 55% on Generic Drugs and 15% on Brand Name Drugs. The card is excepted at 80 % of pharmacies including most of the majors like WalMart, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, Costsco, Walgreens and more. The company has the highest Better Business Bureau rating available. The card is totally free, has no expiration date and can be used by your entire family.

You can contact a company called Ameriplan. I had an email from them to try to get me to sell for them. They are a discount plan, and sound very reputable.
