whats going on in the southern states of america these people are a different kind of flava

Are you kidding me? There really are black and white proms for the same school? I'm feeling sheltered now ...

Being from New Englang, born and bred, I was shocked at many things in Kentucky. I know thats not that far south, but still.

I have heard people I respected highly getting going about African Americans (especially during obama's election). Even bigger shock...They would rather vote for a "N." than a woman. Someone forgot to tell them That women aren't consider live stock any more.

I went to a Baptist church were the pastor never asked a woman to say prayers (aloud to the congregation) I asked a friend and she said the old way, woman do not talk, the husband is the boss. I was not a happy camper there. I tried to educate the woman. My husband told me I was going to be run of out town.

I would be interested to know the specific school, town and location of where this happend, if you would not mind verifying your statement please. Was this in the 40's 50's or now?

I am just curious about the history of this? Not trying to prove anything.

I always think it is so funny how yankees are so arrogant. What makes you think that beliefs and principles of certain people are always wrong if they do not coincide with your own? I find it interesting that you think not having a woman asked to say prayers in church is so bad but yet women have been getting raped and stoned to death in the middle east and nothing is said by you abou that kind of actions.

For you information, I do live in the south, North Carolina to be excact. I was born in the south and still live here. I did spend a little time up north but it just proved that I was correct in my pre conceived notions. I am a conservative Republican. I also find it funny how one os labled a racist if he or she did not vote for obama. I have voted for Allen Keyes since the mid 80's in the various campaigns he had over thos eyears including his presidential campaigns. There are two differences between Keyes and obama: 1. Keyes is a conservative Republican and 100% black 2. obama is a worthless liberal and is half black. So do not judge a book by it's cover.

its like they have a whole other nation down south there is always the underlying feeling that you dont rellay belong down here God forbid you dont have that southern drawl they speak with and the say black folk speak in ebonics if you are black white asian or foreign they know you are not from the south and they dont appreciate us damn yankees
