Why do you non-believers bash, and condemn the Christians? This is your chance to let it all out...
It seems that all the Christian Forums I go on, so many non-believers condemn them for their beliefs, and that's just not right.....

I am a Christian and I have to agree that I have seen it go both ways. This is very sad. I SHARE my belief with others but if a person does not choose to be a believer it is not for me to condemn them. Gog is about love. What kind of representative of Him and my Faith would I be if I treated a person poorly? I do not believe that a true Christ like Christian should mistreat a non believer, I believe that that is why many people who are not Christians dislike Christians as a whole and that is sad.

why do non believers condemn christians? That seems a bit back to front to me. Its christian beleif which condemns everyone who's not a christian.

Well there are only so many variations on the argument: "Jesus is in my heart, he died for our sins, why don't you get it?" To be frank it can get rather exasperating after a while. In conversations of religion, the rules of logic and reason, which all humans regardless of religion must adhere to at some point in their lives, are null. This makes sane and civil discourse quite difficult and "non-believers" aren't the only ones slinging crap.
Then there's the consideration that perhaps the non-believer trying to "bash" you is merely making a perfectly logical statement. However, people can be very sensitive about their religious beliefs and may construe constructive criticism as something more malevolent since it contradicts their beliefs.
The Condemnation of Religion by Atheists
Anyone who has visited any website, forum or discussion board on the internet that is based around religion will most probably have encountered some form of hateful post condemning people for their religious beliefs. Unfortunately such people do exist, and yet again the actions of a few have reflected badly on the majority; as with almost every religious group, atheism too has its extremists and occasionally they too commit violent acts (albeit a miniscule number and on a very rare basis), altho keep reading →

I 'bash' (your word not mine) mainstream Christian teaching, because it needs bashing and then burying so no one can hear it again.
As for condemnation, no, not at all, for they condemn themselves with what they say and write, so I just leave them to get on with it and then point out their blasphemous errors in my own Hubs.
No shortage of material folks and that's for sure!!

The only time I criticize them is when they try to impose their beliefs on others who don't hold the same beliefs. Seems to me tht the criticism and condemnation go both ways.

i have never bashed christians. in fact, most of the time it is the other way around.
my beliefs are not of the norm, i am pagan and have been for years. i have read many christian books including the bible and simply felt it was not for me. but never once have i said it was wrong or moronic to believe in it.
MOST christians ARE good people, but when some come at me and push all their beliefs on me and/or tell me i am evil because of my own beliefs, that is when i wonder how christian they really are.

Maybe it's just time...we've lived so long with supernatural explanations of natural phenomenon that Christians, Islamist, Jews, Hindis, pagans, native peoples, and Mormons have vigorously espoused while looking down their noses and pitying the poor unenlightened folks who can't accept Jesus, Mohammed, Yahweh, Vishnu, Coyote or Joseph Smith into their hearts. And when you're pitied, for no good reason, you get mad. You just get tired of what well-meaning people think is love, but what looks like plain smugness to those receiving it. If religion, and especially Christianity, weren't such gigantic social forces in this world, and didn't have such huge effects on how we treat the earth, I'd be right in your corner. Bashing Tolkeinists discussing the proper pronunciation of Elvish is just mean, because those Ringers aren't going to go to a Tolkein church where they're told by their tax-exempt organization that the only way to stop the forces of Mordor is to vote against the Democratic Party or that scraping out a microdot of cells from a uterus is murder. But that's what happens in churches/mosques/temples. I don't think religion has any special insight into morality or how to treat your fellow man. T

And the Christians who do, need to take a look at themselves....For they are judging, when they have no right....

Forums are used for discussion and debate and exchanging information. So if you are using a Forum to discuss any particular topic, you will find different opinions.
I don't know anything about Christians, because it has not been around me in society. All I know about religion is what I see on non-religious sites, like here at Hubpages.
So, someone like me would not even know Christian Forums even exist. - and being non-religious - not even knowing what your beliefs are, would not be able to debate much with you about it on a Forum. So the non-believers you speak of must have been involved with the religion at some stage to have knowlege of these things.
To be honest, when you don't know about religion, it's a bit annoying to everyday see comments about Holy God, Light, Devil, Sinner etc posted here at Hubpages. It can offend non-believers. I would prefer if you discussed religion on a religious website instead.

As a Believer, I have found that Non-believers bash us for numerous reasons but the most common are as follows: Hatred of Christianity is a learned behavior, fear of what could be the truth, they have sadly been hurt by a member of the faith, a lack of knowledge and understanding. Lastly, they are threatened by that which could be true because if we are right and they as Non-Believers are by some misfortune wrong they have so much more to loose but we as Believers loose nothing. Lastly, the Word of God says that Christians will be persecuted and condemned for what they believe by those who don't believe. Strangely, in the condemning of us they are confirming that which they don't believe.
