Pure air is a mixture of invisible and odorless gases, mainly nitrogen and oxygen with small amounts of water vapor, argon, carbon dioxide, neon, helium and hydrogen. We breathe in 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.96% argon and other gases and 0.04% carbon dioxide. We breathe out oxygen 16% and carbon dioxide 4%. Each day you take about 20,000 breaths and you breathe in about 35 lbs. of air
