At 8.5 games back, can the Red Sox catch the Yankees?
Will the Blow Sox win the Wild Card, or will Texas get them?

The Sox are playing very well and have their pitching almost to the point where they are as good as advertised in the preseason. However, the deficit (now at 6.5, 5 in the loss column) is too much to overcome this late in the season. The Rangers have fallen off and the postseason match-ups seem to be set.
The Angels will have home field advantage for a best-of-seven division series against the Red Sox while the Yankees will have home field against the Tigers.
My predictions:
Yankees in 6 over the Tigers
Angels in 7 over the Red Sox
In the American League Championship Series I see the Yankees in 6 over the Angels.
