I don't think parties with cake, candy and friends are stale. I personally think those are the best parties you can have, as long as they are anything but 'average'. ;) How about a Twilight New Moon or Taylor Swift theme party?

Maybe an amusement park with friends or a boat ride. Planning a going away trip with closest friends and family can also be interesting for her now that she is entering that teen stage. The average birthday party with a cake candy and friends is very stale and very 80's. She is no longer a "child" helping her mature responsibly is part of her growth process.
