What is the best way to keep a garden if there are bears around?
We have a home at 8400' in the Colorado mountains. Next Spring I want to start a garden, and have a compost pile too. But the problem is that there are lots of critters up here...bears, deer, elk and moose. What are some alpine gardening tactics I can use to keep them out of my garden? I don't want to harm them, or make them into "problem animals" that break into our home.
