I don't know. For me personally, the DVR with my directv has truly changed my life for the better. Now my tv works for me and I don;t have to schedule around the shows I like to watch. However, the invention I'd like to see is something to keep drinks cold that doesn't water down your drink like ice cubes do. I find it crazy that we can explore space, but the only way to cool beverages is with frozen chunks of water!

I suppose fire is more of a discovery than an invention, but it is certainly quite notable.
