Why would a wife tell her husband that she has cheated on him?
Married 16 years and told her husband she no longer loved him, wanted a divorce and by the way I slept with another man. Did not speak to him for 3 months and now is begging him to come home.

Agree with stricktlydating that she thought the grass was greener. Affairs seem new and exciting especially if there is problems at home. Forgiveness is in his court and needs to really think about this. Marriages usually have problems coming from both sides and need counseling. Bringing in a third person into a relationship never works and draws your attention out of the marriage when there is work to be done on that relationship. It is easier to run than to work on making a marriage work when times get tough.

Sounds like she thought the grass was greener when she got wrapped up in an affair - which didn't work out, so she now wants what she had with her husband again.

Maybe it would be to make him jealous. Maybe it was to see if he really care. Nowadays' that would not be a good thing to do.
