I believe the biggest factor for foreign investments is the bigger or quicker return of investments. There are some countries where it is not hard to invest not much and expect a a lot. Take outsourcing for example, there are so many companies who outsource some of their work - call centers, telemarketers and support centers. Opening such centres in developing countries is so much cheaper then to open one in the US for example, because the labor is much cheaper. It may sound offensive to some but it is the truth - some people are treated only as cheap labor and they realize that but cannot do much, because a better place is hard to find. I believe that this is the main reason why people invest in foreign countries - cheap labor and higher ROI
