Do you trust the politicians who represent you (state and federal)?

Tell me if you think politicians are doing their jobs in the best interest of the people, state and country they serve. Or, do you think they are self-serving and do what they feel is best for themselves and their party? Do you feel as if you are getting your money's worth (since your tax dollars pay their salaries and benefits) from the government officials who represent you?

Forgive me if this sounds jaded or cynical, but yes, I do trust the politicians: I trust them to be politicians. What does every first term politician want? A second term, then a third & on & on & on. They are mostly good & decent people who start off with all the right motivations, but politics is a dirty business. No matter how idealistic one might be, what it takes to get elected & stay elected requires compromises, some of which lead to selling one's principles.

I have a friend who once said something that has stuck with me: "Politics. From the Greek "poly" meaning many, from the English "tics" meaning bloodsucking insects. Put them together & what do you have? Politics = Many bloodsucking insects."

And just so everyone knows, that is sarcastic humor or at least an attempt at it, so give a big smile.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! I am from WV and our 2 senators are no good. I believe Robert Byrd has probably been deceased for a while and nobody even noticed because his aides have been doing his job for him for years. Our congresswoman-Shelley Moore Capito--does usually support the things that are important to me.
