Mr. Happy says
He is not hawkish enough for some and the "Maverick" nickname does not help. The fact that he's about 243 years old should not stop him though (jk).

well somebody better stand up because beck and limbaugh are appearing more and more as the leaders of the republicans, and by the time they get through chasing ratings the republican party is going to be completely destroyed.

Hello,
John McCain will never be able to stand up and lead the
Republican Party. He lost the Presidential Seat only because
he made a very bad move in selecting Sara Palin as a
candidate for vice presidency.A hockey player, come on guys!
Sara Palin did the Republician Party no favours. His age has
nothing to do with it.Sure look at Pope John Paul ll. He did
a great job for the Catholics of the world and he was no
spring chicken.
Skif says
Scarlet: If you honestly believe that John McCain, himself, selected Sarah Palin as a running mate, you are very ignorant to politics.
dabeaner says
John McCain was only nominated to run by default. He shot himself in the foot the least of all the Republicans competing for the nomination.
But, basically, he is just not a leader.
Now as to leading the Republican party -- the Republicans are in a bind, as any wannabe leader that espouses liberty at home and minding our own business abroad has no chance in hell -- either with the party or the voters in general. So the best they can do is put up "Democrat lite" candidates such as McCain.
The reason for that is because the average voter is stupid, ignorant, and venal. So what are they going to do?
You can vote each answer up or down to show your support or disapproval. You cannot flag an answer, but if an answer receives enough down votes compared to up votes, then it will become hidden.
