If I made a statement to a Social Worker about a possible child abuse case can that Social Worker re
I spoke with a Social Worker about a child abuse case. I didn't submit a written statement, sign any documents, or agree to be a witness. I suspect that the Social Worker recorded my conversation with him and may be using this conversation without my consent.

Any statement you make to a Public Official, the social worker in this case, in regards to an investigation, anything you say can be used as evidence in a legal matter. It is best to only report facts and if there is abuse, help the children out.

They can use it. But, where I am anyway, it is anonymous. They do not want to endanger the people who report to them. If you are worried you can always call the worker or the worker's supervisor.
