wvlegacy is on the right track, but what he's saying is confused somewhat.
Your bandwidth (the speed of your internet connection) doesn't necessarily have to do with your computer. That part is all about your internet connection! You do need a reliable, high-speed connection to get smooth delivery of large-size data streams like video.
However, the graphics card inside your computer is what handles and translates all that incoming data. Having a high-res and high-speed graphics card will also make viewing videos smoother. For that sometimes you can just upgrade the card, and sometimes you need to upgrade the computer to get a faster processor which can in turn handle those sorts of graphics.
Before you go about upgrading your computer, also check to see if you just need to increase the amount of memory used for video buffering. Many people have processor and graphics cards that can handle the video, they just haven't given the computer enough room to store the video feed for smooth playback.

Hello,
Your system must have flash player to play you tube. But it would be better for you to download videos from you tube.
log to www.savevideodownload.com and enter the you tube video URL and click download.
you will get a link to download and save them to your computer. Also, install FLV player to view the video..

You might also want to clear your cache. Go to download-dot-com and install a free copy of Advanced System Care to optimize your computer performance.

You don't have enough bandwidth meaning your internet connection is too slow. Video take more bandwidth and even with DSL or cable modem you may experience stop and start display. Most likely the video window is saying buffering meaning the computer needs more video to display but the connection is not supplying it fast enough. I would definitely not recommend upgrading the PC. It would be a waste of time and money.

Bandwidth might be your problem, but Youtube has had a lot of system problems on their end too. You definately need a fast broadband connection and a good video card.

checkout the youtube video "How to install a new video graphics card"... oh... wait. My bad.
Just kidding. You can buy updated graphics cards from any good computer store and they'll be happy to download and print off detailed installation directions for you. It's easier than it sounds and will make your computer run great! Good luck.

wvlegacy is likely correct. Easy to know if internet line bandwidth is the cause, just play a dvd or copied video directly from your computer (not from internet) with Quicktime, Real Player or Windows Media player and if plays without choppiness then it is not video card and is likely a bandwidth or networking issue.

My vote is with DelanyBoling & Bakerthelo, sounds to me like you need to upgrade the video & sound cards. This is a really easy & cheap fix. Available at most electronic stores also. Something that helps until you actually get around to installing new cards, when the video starts to load, press pause & wait until the video has fully loaded prior to trying to watch it. Yes, I know that this takes time & is very frustrating. I can relate because every month when I reach my download max, my Internet Providor slows my speed to dial up, talk about slow loading....LOL!

wvlegacy is right on. It's the Internet connection. Paul is right in that if you pause the video and allow more of it to load before pressing play then it should work just fine.
Annoying but not a lot you can do unless you can get a faster connection.
