The yoke is destroyed because of the anointing[oil]. Now oil is symbolic.
However, James says that if anyone is sick, call for the elders to pray and anoint the person with oil. I know that oil was used to set aside priests and kings in the past Christian era. How effective is oil today when used with the sick? For someone with an open wound, should [olive] oil be used in healing?

Looks like you put the answer into the question. If oils is symbolic of the anointing, then it's the anointing that does the "work" of healing, or setting aside for ministry. The oil itself has no (real, spiritual) power. It has the "power" of olive oil.

all things are created by God for God. God is before all things.
It is your faith in God that detirmines whether or not you will be
healed. Remember your faith must be complete in the lord for all things. Before asking you may wish to examine your own faith in God and what kind of relationship with the lord you have.
Always praise God for anything that is received. Praise God at all times. Your faith will make you well.
