If only 144,000 will be ruling with Jesus on the Kingdom on earth..how come so many believe that whe

In the Lord's prayer we ask that His kingdom be on Earth as in Heaven. So it means that if there is a Earthly Kingdom..there has to be people living in it..right? So it is logical then that not everyone goes to heaven but will be raised from the dead to live ON EARTH otherwise why would Jesus come back and establish His kingdom on Earth?

I'm not a Christian so I could argue the whole premise of your question .... but I once was and putting that 'hat' back on I would ask this ...

144000 ... according to whom?!?

The 144,000 you refer to is the Jewish remnant that God will preserve of His chosen people. Jesus will reign on this earth with the saints (believers) for 1000 years (millenial reign). The 144,000 will be present at that time. You really need to back up a bit. First the Lord will take His believers out of here (the rapture). There will be the rise of the antichrist and 7 years of tribulation on earth. The 144,000 will be preserved at the end of the 7 years of tribulation. The Lord will come back with His saints for the millenial reign, satan will be bound for 1000 years after which time he will be loosed for a little while. He will lead the remaining unbelievers against the Lord. Jesus will destroy them and satan will be thrown in the lake of fire.

Very interesting and very plausible since we need people who were humans in the flesh but will be in the spirit to be able to gouvern and understand us as humans, as angels cannot understand who we are and Paul said that we would even judge the angels..which means we are made above them.

I wish we it was already done...

Thanks all for your wonderful responses..I appreciate very much .

First of all, I would like to ask you which Bible you are reading?

I have tried to find were, in the Lord's prayer, you found that His Kingdom will be on the earth, but I can't find it!

What I found was in Matthew 6:10 is:

"let thy KINGDOM come; thy Will be done upon Earth, even as in Heaven". (Emphatic Diaglott)

I also tryed The American Standard Version. It says:

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth."

And then The King James Bible:

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

All I can see is that God's will includes both heaven and earth.

And about the 144 000, they will rule as kings and priest with Jesus in heaven. You can read about them in Revelation 7:4, and in verse 9 you can read:

"After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and toungues, standing BEFORE the throne and BEFORE the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in ther hands;"

And in Isaiah 66:1 we can read:

Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool..."

So, if this "great multitude" were standing BEFORE the throne, they must be on the "footstool". Right?

And the footstool was the earth!

Then back o the Lord's prayer.. This must tell us that people will live here on earth in peace and happiness. And a lot of other verses in the Bible tells us the same.

Only 144,000 to rule with Jesus Christ? No way though these people are from the Elect of Christ from the Tribes of Israel, Matthew 24:21-22, there will be many, many more resurrected at His return, Revelation 20:1-4, Hebrews 11:4-39, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16, 1 Corinthians 15:48-53, Revelation 7:1-8,9. Read also Revelation Chapters 2&3. Then read Ezekiel 37:11 and Romans 11:26-27. They will rule on the earth with Christ, Revelation 5:10, Zechariah 14:9-11.

If you wish to gain clarity on this subject, I recommend Eight Kingdoms by Michael Pearl. You won't regret reading it, Christian or not.
