How can I get more fans?
I have started to write a daily blog here for my mom who suffers from Cancer to lift her spirits. Every morning she checks to see if I have more fans. Please help.

Take an interest in other people's Hubs. Read them, leave comments and they will return the compliment. If they like you, they will fan you. If you like them, do the honours too.

I'm only in the early days myself but I suspect they come over time if they like what you write about, if they enjoy your posts in the forums, or if you help them here in the answers section.
If you do find a secret trick to get more let me know. I'd love to be adored by millions! :)

I do not know that there is a clear answer to this question...
some fan for a hub they enjoyed
some fan for a forum reply
some fan to return a fan
some fan for other reasons
I will fan ya since it is for a good cause... :)

Firstly please wish your mother all the best through these hard times, As for fans take time in reading and commenting on other hubs, by becoming fans of other people you will increase your own fan base and you will get more traffic going to your hubs,
ps, one of my fans has written this hub that may be of some interest to your mother
