As a language degree holder and multiple-language speaker, the answer to your question is: No. For a native English speaker like yourself, Japanese is difficult, though not impossible, to learn.
If ease of learning is your criteria, all of the romance languages have relatively simple and consistent grammar and as such are relatively easy to learn. These include Spanish, French, Italian, and Romanian, (and of course Latin).
Other easy languages for an English speaker include those Germanic languages most closely related to English, including Greman, Norweigan, and Swedish.
