A recent article about green products says bamboo is the new plastic. What do you think?
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and is already used extensively for home and building products in Japan and Asia.

I would have to read the article but without reading it this sounds like comparing two things that are disimilar ... unless someone has discovered away to make bamboo into a substance that behaves like plastic.
Bamboo socks are good though; so maybe bamboo is the new cotton or silk.
