WHY am I UNABLE to convert 5000 pecos into a different currency? The world exchange says it is worth X # of dollars - about $550.00 canadian dollars. But the currency exchange WON'T take it. WHY?

yes it is paper money! I do not get how it *expires* - as in the country still exists and would honor it if I were THERE; but the banks won't take it as it isn't in their updated *manual*.

What currency exchange are you talking about? Do you want to exchange actual currency? If that is the case, please be aware that most institutions only accept paper money, but not coins.
