Why are we here? Only to grow, mature, shrivel and die like a tomato plant?
I believe there IS a reason for our existence. What do you Hubbers think?

I don't want to be overly complicated nor do I want to be overly simplistic, but every answer you seek lies inside of you. Every answer any of us seek lies inside of us; the difficult part is learning how to get there and learning how to find it. We talk about planets, solar systems, and the universe as a whole. Depending on how you look at it, we are a universe in our own right as each one of us shines with our own individualistic ways.
Find that place inside of you, go deep, and therein will lie your answer.

Why do you feel there has to be a reason? I suspect we're just here, like the planets, and the rest of a very large universe that has no concern for us. We're born, we die, we wear digital watches. The only reason to our lives is what we give it.
For some that maybe family, friends, religion, business. Our lives are ours and we give them meaning. For others, we don't need a reason, we just are.
It's a liberating way to live. It means that every action, good and bad, we own it, we take full responsibility for it. Not because God demands it, or even wants it. We do right and wrong because we choose it.

I have a theory but please remember I said "theory". I believe we may be here to learn - much like we spend the first years of our lives in school, we spend this time on earth learning the basics so that we may become "adult souls" later. We spend this time learning to interact with people, learning to love God, learning to accept God's love, learning how to live. Just like we squandered some of our school days, we squander some of our life not realizing the next step. As far as "shriveling and dying like a tomato plant"...that's just a shedding of this life's earthly form so that we may take on the next form.

Dark Knight Rides... In my humble opinion, everything has a reason. The planets, the sun, the moon and your and my existence. So I tend to agree with The Rope and Whowantstono about the reason for our being. It's a matter of opinion.....:-)

I believe that, mostly, we're ALL right.
We're here to shine, be abundant, learn the path of joy, creativity and harmony, and practice our conscientious work to stay in the light of greater truth.
Why we are here, I feel, goes beyond reason as we are part of an eternal creation; and cannot be stuck in our current state, our current condition, and risk experiencing the greater good. We are more than "on this earth, in this life" as we are all one in the cosmos, with boundless love and compassion to offer.
We are here, I believe, in this mere snippet of time within the infinite, to share with each other, shine our own light and help others with grace and no expectation-- or at least practice such. We're here to celebrate the fact that we ARE here, for as long and much as possible.

A once off chance to be fruitful and multiply, and make sure we choose the path of Eternal Life and not the path of Eternal Damnation.
